Confundida AF

CONFUNIDA AF “Website Edition”
In this video I wanted to give you the “Why” behind the website as well as to share behind the scene clips of the podcast. I wanted to create a space where I am able to shine a light on the mental health portion of Confundida AF. Navigating life is not a straight path specially when you are adding work, social media, and family. Many of these struggles I won’t talk about in their entirety in the podcast but I hope that through this website I am able to talk more about my mental health journey, what I learned, and what has worked for me! My goal is to create a safe space where we can share our experiences and be a resource as we navigate life’s confusions!

MY EXPERIENCE WITH BURN OUT!
In this video I talk about my experience with burn out, it’s hard to admit that it took me so long to get the appropriate help to overcome it and feel like myself again. In this video I talk about the importance of finding a therapist that fits “who you are” and is able to guide you in your journey in a way that feels natural to you. This for me was a game changer, not only did I get the resources I needed but therapy didn’t feel like therapy. It was something I looked forward to as I navigated “feeling like myself” again. I also mention other things that helped me outside of therapy such as having friends that supported me and creating a safe space to unwind on the days that I did not want to be social. There is no “one size fits all” but there is so many different resources. I hope that through sharing my experience I can offer some ideas as you find what works for you!

THE FIRST TECHNIQUE I LEARNED - GROUNDING
When I first began therapy my therapist taught “Grounding” techniques, one of the first things I told her was that “I did not feel like myself”. I was so tired that I felt like I was on autopilot. In the video I mention 2 techniques, the first one - The Rainbow method. The second one, I like to call the “Who am I?”. These methods helped me so much as I began my journey because I was able to use them anywhere. I didn’t have to talk to my therapist or need additional resources, all I needed was to look around and ground myself where I was. If it was possible I would resort to a quieter area but if not the methods were still useful. I hope to continue to share of my journey with you and share more techniques that I have learned while in therapy. Mental health is something I am very passionate about, more now that I am also working in that field. I am excited to continue sharing my journey with you all and building a community that feels like a safe space to share our journeys and experiences.
THANK YOU FOR TUNING IN TO THE CONFUSION!
